The Development Council of State Universities and Colleges Region III / Center for Inter-Institutional Research and Policy Studies (DC-SUC III/CIRPS) turned over Php100,000 in cash assistance to the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) during the third day of the 2026 Annual Convention and General Assembly, held on July 15, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Authorized under Executive Council Resolution No. 008, series of 2026, the donation is in response to PASUC’s humanitarian initiative to consolidate relief efforts from higher education institutions for victims of the recent Mindanao earthquake.
Tarlac State University President Dr. Jasper Jay N. Mendoza, serving as DC-SUC III/CIRPS Chairperson, formally presented the donation to PASUC President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo. Joining them for the turnover were Tarlac Agricultural University President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, Pampanga State Agricultural University President Dr. Anita G. David, and Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology President Dr. Rhodora R. Jugo.
Moreover, TSU was awarded a one-year subscription to SOPHIE-Learning OS, a specialized learning management system (LMS) featuring integrated Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, courtesy of PrinceTech Corporation.
In a message to the Office of Public Affairs, Pres. Mendoza said this aligns with his DALAN Framework – Dalan ng Makabagong Teknolohiya.
“We can commence the introduction of a new Learning Management System at the university, focusing on flexible learning modalities to ensure quality education. This serves as a prelude to the application of Open Distance and E-Learning in preparation for our Office of Institutional Data and Knowledge Management,” he replied.
The third day of the convention also featured a plenary session with Hon. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education, about “Transforming Philippine Higher Education Together: Shared Leadership, Stronger Partnerships, Greater Impact”.
Other sessions throughout the day covered topics on human capital development, research, extension, innovation, and commercialization.
